Nelly and Ash Star in Max Haul for 1sts!

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

The 1sts kicked off their season in fine style with a 5 point win against Springhead. A full match report will follow later, but the highlights included 5 for 11 for Nelly (to follow up his 7 wickets and century against the Head last year), and an unbeaten 52 from skipper Ash.

Good to see the big performances coming from those players who didn’t attend OT! With Doc P, Duncan and Marshy all absent, this could have been a tricky start, but instead it’s 5 points and we’re off and running.

Stumps Up!

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

The first games of the season are rapidly approaching, so can we make a final big rallying call to everyone to have a great season and let’s try and bring home some more silverware! The firsts have had a superb couple of seasons and need to bring that momentum forwards - with a new player or two in the fold, there’s every chance of continuing our success, while the 2nds should make positive strides under new skipper Matt back in Div 4.

The provisional teams have been posted on the message board, so make sure you check it out! And let’s see you all posting on there!

Good luck Matt!

Hi all,

Hopefully everyone connected with TSJCC will join me in wishing our very own Matt Hunt all the very best for this Sunday’s London marathon. Matt has been in intensive training over the past 6 months, and that doesn’t include his regular stops across the dancefloors of Bury!

Camp Matt

If the camera pans across the tens of thousands of runners and we happen to catch a glimpse of someone camply shaking his stuff, we can rest assured that it’s our man!

Good luck, fella. We’re all behind you! About 150 miles behind you, but still …

If anyone wants to donate to the very worthwhile cause that Matt is running for, you can still do so here:

Old Trafford Net Report

Friday, April 4th, 2008

Hi all,

Just thought it might be useful to post a few remarks about the first week at Old Trafford - we were given 2 nets, one with a bowling machine and coach, the other just a free batting net. Facilities were top notch and I think the 5 of us who batted all received some useful tips - certainly on a personal level I felt I was striking the ball far harder and cleaner as a result.

Many thanks in particular to Danny and Jebby who turned up and bowled their hearts out for an hour, and gave us all a good workout - much appreciated guys!

Oh and Rowdy - pick your bat up higher and come down harder!

The lads!
