Player Profile: Ashley Parkinson

1st XI skipper "Flash" is a bit of a Totty legend, being part of most of the successful teams since the mid 1990s. A high quality all rounder, and one of the top players in the NMCL in the past 20 years, Flash has migrated from a quality opening bowler who batted a bit into one of the best batsmen around, and a wonderful catcher, especially in the slips. A game's never lost with him in the side. Ash also particularly used to enjoy games against former TSJer brother Mark, when we played Glodwick!

Memorable Moments

Ash's 140 not out at Catholics in 2006 was one of the best innings we've seen at TSJ, a virtual one man charge to victory in a thrilling game. He also cites his maiden 100 against Robbies as a highlight, and also taking a great catch to give Doc P a hat-trick at Westleigh in 2006. Doc would like to make it known that dropping a hat-trick catch off Flash a good few years ago is still regretted!

Ash has always been fiery, and many of us remember him breaking Gary Stockton's arm at Robbies in the 90s. Not to mention the infamous over where he "beamed" Nigel Warne 5 balls in a row. Other classic moments include the 20 minutes he spent meticulously moving fielders in one over in a desperate attempt to stop us losing a game with rain looming, to the intense amusemt of the rest of us (but not Steve H who was umpiring). Oh and the destruction of Bolton Road for 13 all out.
