KIERAN CENTURY IN VAIN AS RAIN SEALS A DRAW

Our first century of the season, courtesy of Kieran, came in vain. Despite a mammoth 200 run opening partnership between KC (109 not out) and Nick Marsh (91), the firsts total of 268-2 against Ashton wasn't enough to seal the points. A biblical storm hit ther Tottington area with Ashton on 127-1 in reply, forcing an abandonment and the (possible) loss of several valuable points. The 1sts remain in 4th place in the table.

The 2nds meanwhile finished their game but probably wished they hadn't. Having been skittled for just 102 by Ashton, there wasn't enough firepower to force a win, the home side getting over the line with 6 wickets down. Thanks to victory by east Lancs over Milnrow, however, Watty's boys remain top of Division 4 for another week.
