Two Overs At ... Mike Watts

Mike A newcomer to TSJCC in 2010, Mike is the absolute spit of England superstar fast bowler Jimmy Anderson, and has a love for fast cars, medium paced women and slow looping half-track deliveries. Find out what he'd take to a desert island, and his secret talent ...

How did you first get involved at TSJCC?
I was on the look out for a new club, and I knew Mike Ainscoe (he was one of my teachers!) played locally.... and after speaking to him, he invited me to Woodhey nets... and the rest is history!

What are your first impressions of the club?
Small ... friendly ... close knit ... good place to be!

Women or Audis. Discuss ...
What is there to discuss? Audi everyday. Unless Cheryl gives me a call.

What part of your game are you happiest with, and what do you want to work on the most?
Probably my batting..... but I want to work on my concentration (with both bat and ball) - hopefully to become the Flintoff of TSJ! Or something like that.

Tell us a memorable moment from this season ...
Easy, it's got to be the 6 I hit in the T20 at ELPM ...

Who's your favourite teammate, and why?
Without doubt it's got to be Ste Moriarty. I've learnt loads just playing in the same team as him. Although I'm looking forward to hearing some of these legendary "Rowdy" stories from the man himself ...

People obviously point out your resemblance to an England cricketing star. How does it feel to be compared to Tim Bresnan?
Well, I think Tim is a very lucky guy to be compared to someone like me ;)

Tell us a non-sporting talent you have?
That's a really good question actually..... I always seem to end up cooking at barbeques if that counts???

What's your favourite film?
Probably Scarface.

If you could change one thing about the club, what would it be?
I think we need to get a couple of grass wickets cut at the end of the ground.

What's your favourite flavour of ice cream?
Raspberry Ripple.

Name three things you'd take to a desert island (and you can't say an Audi)?
Boat, compass and a map. I wouldn't plan on being there for long!
