FIRSTS CLOSE SEASON WITH A LOSS, 2S GO DOWN TO DARCY

The 1sts closed the season with a fairly comprehensive defeat to Rochdale Catholic Club, who ensured their latest title in the process. Asif took another 5 wicket haul, confirming a likely finish as top wicket taker across the 1st division this year, but the batting again exposed its frailties in the absence of key players, succumbing to just 91 all out in pursuit of the visitor's 190odd.

Thanks go to all those who put in countless hours through the week and on Saturday morning to ensure the ground was fit. Congratulations also to RCC who regained the 1st Division title after being narrowly pipped last year.

The 2s also went down to a heavy 7 wicket defeat in the rearranged game with Darcy III's. They now have just one game left this season before things wrap up for the winter!

It's been a pretty disappointing season on the field in general, but with injuries to Boris, Russ, and Marshy keeping them oput fo rlong periods and Paul only playing 4 league games, it was never goign to be easy - some tight finishes could easily have gone the other way, leaving us in a healthier mid-table spot, but alas a lack of firepower at crucial times hasn't helped! On the plus side, this week has seen the completion of the new outdoor practice facility at a cost well into the £30,000+ range; this is a wonderful development and will provide top class training and coaching facilities for years to come.
