CLUB SECURES HUGE GRANT FOR GROUND LEVELLING AND EXPANSION

The committee of Tottington Sports Club is delighted to announce that we have been awarded the largest grant in the club's history to put in place a programme of ground levelling, expansion and related works from mid 2017. Following several years of success in developing the clubhouse, including a new function room, upper tier expansion to incorporate women's facilities as well as a new changing area for the seniors, outdoor nets and a car park, the latest grant will see the largest changes ever down at the Meadows. As well as levelling the playing surface and installing professional quality drainage, the cricket area will be expanded, along with various other enhancements to access and security.

The grant application was some two years in development, with a huge amount of input and help from committee members, the LCB, club reps, colleagues, local schools and businesses, residents and more. The committee especially wishes to thank Clive Brooks for his tireless efforts both with this work and with the numerous other grants he has secured in the past few years.

Full details of the developments and the grant funding will be released in due course but one important point is that work will almost certainly start in mid to late July, meaning that our remaining home fixtures will be played elsewhere - Tottington's Big Day Out on July 2nd will not be affected. We are grateful to the GMCL for their consultation ahead of our grant result, which will enable us to complete the season as expected. Along with our continued expansion of the playing side, and expansion of the women's and junior divisions, this may be the biggest development we've yet put in place.

The committee is already planning for the next phase of development activity from 2018, watch this space!
