CRICKET IS BACK!

Cricket is back! After months of delay, recreational cricket returned this past weekend, bringing crowds down to the Meadows to see two competitive games. On Saturday an intra-squad game took place, with more than 6 hours of tightly-fought action culminating in a win for Ben's side against Ryan's squad, while Sunday saw a narrow victory for the Rammy Traders against our Sunday boys.

Over the two days, an estimated five hundred folk came down to watch, picnic and enjoy the sunshine and the ground was an absolute picture thanks to the superb efforts of everyone who has worked so hard to get the facilities ready and safe. Special mention to Kieran, Richard and James P, Sam, Rick, Dasher and all those who have been hard at work throughout the past few months ensuring the facility is not just maintained but continuously improved.

The matches were an excellent warm up for the return of competitive cricket in a fortnight, with little quarter given - especially on Saturday when both sides fought hard and competitively. There were plenty of useful performances and it was a terrific way to shake off the cobwebs and try and re-acclimatise to playing on grass rather than the nets!

The TSJ Facebook page has plenty of great photos from both days - thanks to those who have sent in their pictures and posted such nice comments across all social media.

Thanks to those who made it possible to "get the game on", all who played, scored and umpired, and everyone who came down to support the club, cheer on friends and family, and enjoy Tottington's biggest and best beer garden - with more home fixtures next weekend and a good weather forecast we hope to see you all down at the Meadows again soon!
