3RDS LOSE IN RAIN-AFFECTED CLASH

The 2022 season drew to a quiet close on Sunday as the 3rd XI battled in a rain-affected clash at Edenfield. Katie's troops were unable to chase down a sizeable target despite yet another half century from one of 2022's success stories, Sam Collins. His 66 was the highlight of the Totts reply, coming after Awais and Katie had each picked up four wickets in the host's total of 185 all out. In reply, the TSJ side mustered 124-6, with Jack Kenyon spending a good time at the crease for his 17 not out.

Katie's side have developed hugely this year, and the introduction of several promising U13 cricketers has been a major highlight of the campaign. Under Katie's ever-maturing leadership, the youngsters have been a real delight to see, and we look forward to witnessing more progress in 2023.

Both your report writer and Katie would like to extend grateful thanks to everyone who has helped out, supported, worked their socks off and otherwise contributed to a very promising season, not just for the 3rds but across the club. With the firsts picking up a deserved championship, the 2nds also holding their own and some great junior performances, this has been a year of much progress. We'll bring a full recap of the season in due course, but for now thank you to all who have contributed on and off the field in making 2022 such a pleasure.
