Final averages 2010

Here are the final 2010 1st and 2nd XI XI league and cup averages for 2010. The 1st XI batting was essentially a two man show, with Ashley's phenomenal season carrying him way ahead of everyone; with 5 tons and a double hundred, he was our batting star of the season. Kieran also had a very good year, with 450+ runs. However, the usual supporting cast of Doc P, Marshy, Carl, Scunners, Russ and Nelly will probably all feel they could and should have contributed more. As ever, there were plenty of missed games for our main men.

It's a different story with the ball, as our club's main strength in 2010 is clearly shown. At one point Doc was leading the league averages, and all the main bowlers will feel pleased with their efforts. Big Marshy just sneaked into top spot by virtue of a blistering mid-season run of 5 wicket hauls. Big Bird was extremely good with his strike rate, while the economy rates of the main bowlers are also all excellent.

Over in the 2nd team, the Moriartys have cleaned up; Danny had by far his best season with the bat to date, a high score of 80 carrying him to the top of the averages, despite a very useful debut season from Adrian Campbell. On the bowling front, several bowlers performed well, with Rob Holt pushing all the way; however the honours went to captain Steve Moriarty!
