WATTY'S BOYS CHAMPIONS AND PROMOTED

A fantastic season for the 2nd XI was rewarded on Sunday as Watty's boys not only secured promotion but were crowned champions of Division 4!

Champions

Going into the fixture with Walshaw III, our boys had every chance to confirm their place in Division 3 but required results elsewhere to go their way - having avoided Saturday's rains, a home win would be just the tonic. Walshaw were bowled out for 118, with skipper Watty taking the honours with a season (and probably career) best 6-20! The boys got home for the loss of 6 wickets to spark celebrations. These then escalated as news came in that fellow title contenders Greenfield had been demolished by our old friend Keith Lees and his 8-22! Title secured!

The 1sts meanwhile had a low key end to their season as rain brought a premature end to their game with Elton Vale on Saturday - there was just time for Asif to bag another 5 wicket haul, securing 5-64 in the visitors' total of 192 all out. Totts had got to 10-0 in reply before the heavens opened.
