PRESENTATION NIGHT 2013

The latest end of season senior cricket and presentation night was attended by around 70 folks, who enjoyed the awards, games, fun and merriment long into the evening on October 18th.

In a slight change to the usual format, special guest Steve Hinchley was on hand to start the evening by presenting the cricket trophies.

It was far from a stellar year on the pitch but there were still some pretty notable achievements. For the firsts, Asif bowled his heart out, finishing the season with a highly impressive 65 wickets and deservedly winning not only the bowling award but also the outstanding achievement for 2013. On the batting front, Si Marsh won the averages in a year in which all the big guns failed to fire. George Green performed well for the 2s with the bat, while skipper Sail cleaned up on the bowling front, ending near the top of the league averages after an impressive season of legspin. Perhaps the loudest cheers greeted the deserved award of Clubman of the Year to Nick Marsh for a million and one actions throughout the year, both on and off the field.

There was a special presentation instigated, the Chairman's Award, which Scott was delighted to present to Clive for his sterling efforts in securing tens of thousands of pounds worth of grants, to aid the new net facility among other things, and for his usual raft of work off the field. Well done!

Cricket awards were presented as follows:

Food was served, then the first games of the evening took place before the rounders girls took over with their awards - details below. After more games the evening continued with music and a bar til late!
