TON UP BRET INSPIRES 1STS

The Bret Collins mid-summer roadshow rolls on. After back to back unbeaten knocks inspiring the 2nds to successive 10 wicket wins, our hero was at it again. Having travelled to Milnrow on a decidedly damp Saturday, the opening pair of Bret and Phill Hayes smashed their way to 177 inside 25 overs. Bret notched his first century of the season after a rain delay and ended with 109, while Phill continued on to 85. Thanks to some late hitting from Niko, the 1sts amassed a challenging 265-5 in just 35 overs. The home side were never in the hunt, closing 98 runs short to give the 1sts another welcome win.

With the 2nds not in action this weekend it was left to Katie's crew to see if they could complete a weekend clean sweep when they travelled to Woodbank. In a match that didn't finish til 8pm thanks to the rain, Si Marsh was again in prime form, taking 5-30 as the home side were restricted to a manageable 145 total. Unfortunately the 3rds never really got going in pursuit, and despite some valiant knocks down the order, Totts closed on 108-8 as the evening drew in.

All three sides are back in action next weekend - let's hope for some more great team and individual achievements!
